the fourth of july is one of my favorite holidays. we never make a big deal of it in my family, but it always ends up being a perfect mix of a quiet, relaxing day followed by food, friends, fireworks. (alliteration alert ;)) happy birthday, america.

ReplyDeletefourth of july has been a bit crazy around here for the past two years, at least for me. last year I was at a resort in the UAE (home of massive shopping malls with things like indoor ski-slopes). the chef at the resort wanted to make something special for us as it was our country's birthday, so he cooked thanksgiving dinner.
this year i was in belgium, eating chicken wraps on the floor of our hotel room.
not quite the traditional fourth celebration, but i'll take it :)
